Jason Hayes Appointed Associate Director of ACC
Washington, DC – The nation’s trusted voice and advocate for the American coal industry is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Hayes as Associate Director of the American Coal Council (ACC). Mr. Hayes has served as the ACC’s Communications Director for the past 8 years and will work closely with incoming CEO, Betsy Monseu to advance the ACC’s education, advocacy, and communications objectives.
"Jason has enhanced and expanded the ACC’s publications program to industry-leading standards during his tenure as Communications Director,” said current ACC CEO, Janet Gellici. "His strong advocacy and communications skills will further strengthen the Association as he assumes his new position as Associate Director.”
Hayes brings to this position over two decades of natural resource management and energy industry experience. Prior to working with the ACC, Hayes operated his own consulting firm – providing services to the Canadian resource industry – and worked with the Fraser Institute’s Calgary, AB office.
Hayes has earned a Master of Environmental Design – Env. Science (M.E.Des.) degree from the University of Calgary, a BSc. in Natural Resource Conservation from the University of British Columbia, and a Tech Diploma in Renewable Resource Management from Selkirk College.
The American Coal Council represents the collective business interests of the coal industry ~ from the hole-in-the-ground to the plug-in-the-wall ~ including coal suppliers, coal consumers (utility & industrial), energy traders, coal transportation companies and coal support service firms. ACC provides relevant educational programs, advocacy support and peer-to-peer networking forums to advance members’ commercial and professional development interests. Additionally, ACC advocates for coal as an economic, abundant and environmentally sound fuel source.
